Standby Generators

A standby commercial generator keeps your power on and your business open during an outage including critical hard-wired systems like A/C, heat, computers, security systems, refrigerators, freezers, and more. It’s installed outside your business (like an AC unit) and comes on within seconds of a power outage automatically whether you’re open or closed. Commercial generators run on propane or natural gas, so there’s no refueling.

CUSTOM BUILT GENERATOR SETS

Whether you need a trustworthy backup power system for your business, Continental Engines will provide you the power and peace of mind you need. We understand the need for your business or home to keep running, even after the power goes out. All sets are customized to fit your needs.

Custom Installations

No matter what the size of the job, we schedule, organize, supervise and ensure the system is installed correctly and meets all standards and specifications.

This service is also available as part of our turn-key emergency back-up, stand-by or permanent power generation solutions. Assessment and engineering studies are performed to determine the exact loads and requirements necessary. Equipment is purchased, calibrated and installed and a service contract is devised for continuous system monitoring.

Custom Weatherproofing

We design and build custom weatherproof housing for all of our projects. This includes enclosures for pumps, custom generator enclosures and cabinets for engines. These custom enclosures can be used for protecting equipment from the elements as well as work site debris. We also engineer and produce enclosures with soundproofing.

Examples of Weatherproofing:

Custom Enclosure for Sykes Ameripumps Centrifugal Pump Overview: These pumps initially had fiberglass enclosures, which were subject to cracking after about a year of use. The manufacturer asked Continental Engines to design new enclosures made out of metal. We designed these pump enclosures for 3 models of pumps, was in charge of their fabrication and conducted sound level testing as well as air flow testing on them.

Hatz Powered Truck Mounted Hydraulic Platform for Bridge Work Overview: Hatz 30 KW Generator powered with Hatz 4L41C Diesel Engine. Used as a power source for truck mounted Hydraulic Platform bridge work. Custom diamond pattern enclosure was designed/built by Continental Engines as well.

switchgear

Transfer switches improve the safety of generators. These switches help to ground the generator and supply power to equipment by providing a single plug-in point for the generator. Once the transfer switch is in operation, equipment and buildings can be connected to the transfer switch instead of directly to the generator. Automatic transfer switches allow the generator to kick into action automatically when the main power source fails. When the power comes back on, the generator will shut down by itself.
